Fine Art Graduate Schools

After completing an undergraduate degree in either arts or Visual Arts, many students choose to continue their education by applying to grad school. Fine art Graduate School offers students the opportunity to continue to improve their creative skills, be proficient in their field of expertise, and learn the professional skills required in the world of art and business. With the available concentration, students should be able to find a graduate program that will meet their abilities and desires. Many schools encourage students to experiment with their own personal artistic expression to tap into the creative potential that is owned by the individual student. Cultivating talent and give students a chance to unmatched creative growth is limited to only a few graduate school goals. Graduate School offers Master's Programs in the field of art and fine art, and many schools also offer a PhD Program as well.


Many of the Graduate School of fine arts offers both traditional classroom and online classes. Because most of the bodies of graduate students including working adults, online classes are available for those who may not be able to attend traditional classes. However, traditional classes are held in the evening in an effort to accommodate people in the work force. Savannah College of Art and design in Georgia offer online and traditional art classes as well as the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California and the University of Massachusetts in Shrewsbury. The New York Film Academy and East Tennessee State University College of Arts and Science offers a Bachelor of fine arts and fine arts.


Generally, graduate school requires a student wishing an art or fine art degree graduates have earned a Bachelor's degree in the arts or fine arts. Many schools require students to submit portfolios that contain works of art students. CD and video is also acceptable, but usually not as a replacement for the portfolio. Students should be prepared to submit a statement or to grad school letter of intent along with the subject of their work. Graduate schools also ask students to provide them with information on the concepts and issues of students want to explore during their postgraduate studies.
